Owning or caretaking land can be a very daunting experience, especially when you don’t know where to begin. There are many different practices and methods out there and depending on your land and outcomes you desire, will determine which pathway you choose. To say it can be overwhelming is an understatement, and one we know all too well ourselves. When we first moved to our property nearly 4 years ago we were full of excitement and ready to implement all that we’d learnt. We only saw possibilities! Everywhere we looked, there was a project bursting and desperate to begin. So we did what all eager folks do- we threw ourselves right into the deep end. We started a hundred projects all at once and very soon started to wonder what on earth we had done! The enormity of it all was never ending. We purchased our farm 11 years prior to moving here. During this time, we were based in central Queensland for work. As difficult and unrelenting the constant toing and froing was, it afforded us the time to learn. Learn all about regenerative agriculture and how to adopt some of the practices on our farm, so that once we lived there, we could throw ourselves at it. And that’s just what we did!

Anyone who knows farming, grew up on a farm, or is friends with a farmer can hand on heart agree that all farming gear is crazy expensive!! With this in mind, we started to see a demand in our community to offer a contracting service. With Rory’s expertise in all things ‘tractoring’ (sorry, I couldn’t help myself, it’s what I now call it since watching Clarkson’s Farm!!) and his extensive knowledge in regenerative farming, Gilldora Grove Contracting was created.
